Robotics & Automation Technician

Hand Plus Robotics is seeking robotics and automation technicians to design, test, install, maintain, and troubleshoot robots and automation systems.

Roles and Responsibilities:


As a Robotics System Integration Engineer at Hand Plus, you will collaborate with a world-class team of doers and dive into challenging technical problems to deliver our solutions. This role requires combination of engineering know-how, problem solving, curiosity, innovation, leadership, and communication. You will be an integration lead for robotic arm deployments, providing remote and onsite support. You will need troubleshooting and analysis skills while understanding and adopting best practices.

  • Assist in designing automation systems including the mechanical and electrical modules

  • Assemble and integrate the mechanical and electrical modules of robots and automation systems

  • Perform system installation, set-up, servicing, maintenance and repair job (both corrective and preventive), and ensure systems to remain functional at all times

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and/or escalate system or machine issues

  • Assist in procurement and liaising with suppliers and contractors

  • Work and interface with clients and provide on-site support

  • Generate and compile documentation and reports on the machines, processes, and tasks

  • Conduct housekeeping of shopfloor (lab), especially with regards to parts, tools, and machines

  • Observe and ensure safe operations in and around the office

  • Provide technical support to the engineers and perform any other duties as assigned by superior and/or management

Job Requirements:

  • Certification: Higher NITEC, Technical Diploma, Polytechnic Diploma, or higher in the area of Automation / Robotics / Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics or related fields

  • Work experience: 3 years minimum in relevant industry

  • Soft Skills:

  • Possesses good work ethics and attitude

  • Has good communication skills and a team player

  • Biased to action and has entrepreneurial attitude

  • Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn and improve

  • Technical Skills needed:

  • Working practical knowledge of CAD (Solidworks, CATIA, etc)

  • Working practical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatics

  • Good grasp of engineering fundamentals of electrical, mechanical, IT, and pneumatics

  • Experience and good understanding of factory automation components including PLCs, motors, sensors, power systems, and robots

  • Programming experience or skill in C, C++, or Python is a plus

  • Experience in programming industrial robots is a plus

  • Experience or skill in Linux and ROS is a big plus
